TS 7.51 - WORKSPACE:

The object navigation widget sits near the selected object. The view navigation widget keeps the object navigation widget in the same place on the screen while the viewpoint circles the object. It is actually circling the object's widget. Crazy Bob's widget sits near his feet, so when navigating with the green control on the navigation widget, his feet are always in the same place on the screen.

I have finally succeeded in successfully attaching skin to bones on my 1st mannikin and as soon as I did, the object widget for my mannikin moved way off about a body length. Now when I use the navigation widget, the mannikin travels in a circle, passing near it's widget and then off around the circle which often carries the mannikin off the screen. Onlike Crazy Bob, who stays with his widget, which stays locked to the screen, the mannikin travels out of sight relative to it's stationary widget when viewed using the navigation widget.

If I am editing, say a joint, then the navigation works as it should, keeping the particular joint locked to one spot on the screen while the view circles around it.

Is there any way to control this crazy widget? The manual has little to say.

Thanks for any clues.

I think what you may have to do is move the manniken's axes to the center of the manniken.

Note: Make sure you have your file saved. Then, do this in model view (move the axes to the object center), then switch back to Workspace side. THere appear to be issues with axes on Workspace side.

fruutee,

Thanks very much. That was the answer. The widget is now near the center of the mannikin's body. Perfect. Thanks again.
