Hi,
how do you stop or pause a render in progress?? I couldn't find a thread here, a
reference in the manual, or an icon.
Thanks,
 |

Esc is a bit hit and miss though and you might think it is doing nothing. I find Dribble renders particularly hard to stop and HDRI intensive scenes in LW can take a while too....but they do stop eventually...;) |

Indeed - and in older versions of TS, heavy geometry or complex lighting can sometimes make ESC very slow to respond, and occasionally even after a long wait nothing seems to happen. Worst cuplrit I've noticed in TS5, even with minimal geometry is using Skylights - almost always end up with a program crash... |

Hit ESC - then spacebar works for me most of the time and is fairly quick. |

Thanks all! Esc worked well, although it was just a simple scene.
Maybe there should be an Abort icon in the next version that would bring it to a screeching halt??? :D |

If you use Vray with Global illumination enabled you may wait until vray finish the Gi calc and start to render..
But yes, can be a good choice add a cancel button. |

CTRL-ALT-Del followed by "End Task" are one of my favorites as well too. Works for all applications. :D |

That's one of my favourites although hopefully I've made sure I saved the project to a certain point before hitting that render button. |

Also sometimes holding down the ESC key longer before releasing will prove more successful in stopping the animation if a quick keypress doesn't work. Sometimes when the CPU is totally bogged down rendering windows misses keystroke events. This is less of an issue if you have a dual core system. |

A quick Double Right Click on the rendering window also works. |
