Hi, i'm back again! I downloaded the Truespace 7.5 trial, and can't find any way of extruding edges. I tried using the sweep tool, but when I click on edges, an error message pops up that says that Truespace cannot sweep the edges (or vertices). I tried another tool that was called Normal Sweep, or Dyna Sweep I think. I tried this tool only on faces, and it works on the faces.

If anyone has a way around this problem, or knows if the Dyna Sweep tool can extrude edges or not, please tell me. This will help me a lot.

Thankyou all for your kind help :)

You can do it in the full version of 7.51. But only using Model side (TS6.6 legacy) with the PolyTools plugin which is fairly unstable and crashes a lot.

Edge sweep is one of my big feature requests for 7.6. It's really useful for car modeling and building objects poly by poly. Maybe if enough of us ask TomasB nicely and promise him cool Christmas bribes, he'll add it for us? ;)

Shucks! Edge Tools?

I was hoping for "hedge" tools so I could cheat my way into pro-modeling skills!

Any chance of "hedge" tools getting into version 8? :D

Hi everyone! I found out a method for extruding the edges on a model, and at the same time, this method will connect two models together by faces, vertices, or edges!

Here are the steps:

1. If, for example, you are making a head for a character, make the back of the head and the face separately.

2. Use the glue as sibling tool, or the glue as child tool to combine the two halves together.

3. Right click on the mesh, click on the polygon bridge/blend tool, click on one edge on one half of the model, then one edge on the other half. Press enter.

Tip: If you would like to, you could use the delete faces tool to take out faces that you don't want (like if you connected a head mesh to a plain, just to get the extrude, you could delete the plain then). This might keep just the extruded edges.

If anyone wants to expand my method, please do share your thoughts and ideas. I hope this will be helpfull to others as well.

The quicky work around is to use the polydraw or add edges tools and cut a new edge near the edge you want to extrude. Then just pull out the outer edge to the new position that you wanted. ;)
