I was just wondering if there is any way of making curves extrude along another curve. I was playing around in the TS 7.5 trial, trying to make a funky bent pipe, but I wasn't successfull. If someone could find a way to do this, it might be usefull for making models of pipes, seashells, string, worms, possibly nurbs or polygon hair, and probably a bunch of others too.

When I was trying to make a bent pipe, first I made a circle curve (top view), then a really funky line (front view). I placed one end of the line over the circle, and tried some of the curve tools. I tried the extrude tool, rail tool, brail tool, and cross section tool. I couldn't figure out how to use them though.

Thanks!

The nurbs loft tools do that. :)

Something to keep in mind while working with the demo is that the "model" side tools are legacy and they're mainly for backwards compatibility purposes and to provide not yet implemented functionality (Sort of like a giant plugin via the bridge). Workspace side *is* TS 7.x.

So you should think of Model side as the old 6.6 application and the past. Where as Workspace side is the future. You'll also find that the Workspace tools are for the most part more stable than the Model side tools.

TrueSpace is in transition after a major re-write of the entire core of the application. The pains of this transition will (hopefully!) lessen with each iterative release as more tools and features are moved over to the new core.

I'm very excited at this new direction and I think it gives TrueSpace the potential to grow out of the hobbiest niche its been in for so long and to now move up to nip at the heals of the "big boys".

In the end it's all about the artist and finding the tools that best let you express your art. Some of getting a handle on TS7.5 will require a bit of "unlearning" depending on what apps you are already used to. ;)

Definitely, let us know if we can help you out. :D These forums are very friendly and supportive. Possibly one of the best reasons to buy the software.
