TS 7.51 - Vista OS - Bridge is "on"
I find that if I make an object invisible on the model side, I can make it visible again using the "unhide all objects" button.
However, the object remains permanently invisible on the Workspace side. I can see its widget only (which continues to effect the invisible object).
If I insert the object into an object library, the thumbnail appears blank. If I save the object as an object file, it will not open.
Any known work-around to this? I like to use the invisible feature often to keep the work area temporarily cleared. It's a lot easier than putting everything on separate layers. Thanks for any clues. |

Ouch! I also now find that none of my object files will open. Fortunately, I had saved the important ones into a library as well, so they are not lost.
But when I save, for instance, my figure mannikin (days of work) as an object, the file will not open (or is blank). |

Be wary of using 'legacy' functions in workspace, even with the bridge on not all functions translate over. Best to use visibility tools on the same side so hide/unhide in model side only.
That is all I can suggest really but best not to mix the two up if it causes problems...:o |

Thanks splinters - is there a hide/unhide equivalent on workspace side, perhaps under another name? |

In workspace stack choose settings tab then look at scene option. Check enable object attribute then once that extra panel opens you can switch to its advanced options. You will see an invisible option. A bit long winded but it is there...:D
Still, best to stick with model side option if you don't need Vray or new workspace features. |

I disagree with Splinters here a bit. Workspace side is more stable and is the future of TS, if you're still learning TS, then my recommendation would be to do as much of my work as possible on Workspace side. |

Fair point Jack but I was implying that mixing functions across the bridge was not such a good idea and from the tone of the post I got the impression that john was more used to the model side features.
Also, I have to disagree with Jack as I cannot 'personally' recommend sticking solely with workspace until it has a full feature set. Just my opinion, you have to find your own best working methods but I cannot use workspace as quickly as I can model side...just yet...and I have had trouble with booleaned objects being triangulated across the bridge as well as a few other 'quirks'
Again though, each to their own. There is no right or wrong way, just what works best for you...:) |

Well we definitely can agree that you should do the majority of your work on one side or the other. :)
The bridge is an awful beast that I'm hoping gets put down in short order, lol. An opinion that I've been fairly vocal about in the past as well. ;) |

Definitely and yes...:D
Although I hope they keep the model side as one big legacy plug in, and one that can interface directly with Vray...;) |

Returning to the original question, there is no way to use Unhide All at the moment - you'll need to unhide each object manually one by one.
This bug has been reported on the beta (by me, in fact :) )
HTH!

One potentially time saving method is to hotkey the Invisible toggle (for example, mine is Control I).
Use the LE in workspace or the Object Info panel in model to select the object and hit the hotkey.
Not as slick as Unhide All but better than permanent ghosts. |
