Yup I bit the Bullet and decided I needed 7.5..
Is it as Great as they say Folks....?
Links would be great...I am Lazy...
I did use tS on the aveara Production...
In the Short film "Revelations" I used tS6.0/6.6
On the CD for MH I used tS 6.6 for the Lettering and Layering...
Final Layering was done in Bryce 6.6 Beta...
Now I have used tS since 99...:jumpy: |

Workspace modeling is very stable. VRay is one of the top render engines in the industry and while we complain about some of the features that could be better implemented in the TS version, it's still the best render engine currently available for TS. GI and HDRI allow for very realistic renders with a minimum of work on the lighting setup.
DX9 materials are one of the most powerful features of TS7.5. You can take advantage of today's 3D graphics cards creating your own shaders and materials. TS7.5 even supports a subset of HLSL, which you can see used in Parva's beautiful realtime results. The coolest part of realtime rendering is that you can render out a full length 2 hour film at HD resolutions in a matter of hours.
The new bones system is very easy to use and a huge improvement over 6.6 bones. It's effectively a 1.0 system though, so there are still a few issues that need a bit of work. ;)
Roman has posted about new Morphing tools being added to 7.6, so you're definitely going to want to set aside some money for that upgrade as well.
7.0 was definitely a rocky start, but the transition to 7.5, and later 7.6 will be dramatic. I have no real idea of when it's coming but I'm very excited about the upcoming 7.6 release. With all the work the devs are putting in, it may well be one of the best TrueSpace releases to date.
So definitely a HUGE congrats on your upgrade! But definitely keep an eye to the future while you're getting up to speed with 7.51. You're definitely not going to want to skip the 7.6 upgrade either. :D |

Well, excellent ideas are more than half the battle, so a good "idea man" is always a very welcome commodity here for sure!
You will soon find in the shared space meetings, especially the ones on Tuesday Nights, that very good new ideas are generated and developed there all the time as we share them and enhance them together in realtime, there are a lot of extremely bright Scriptors in our midst and they have a tendency to drop in often on Tuesday Nights to share and collaborate.
On the ram... double it, you will need to right away for sure. The card will suffice for now, cpu speed and ram are the main priorities.
High speed internet is also advisable, cable being definitely preferred for shared space meetings where scripts are often running and tested.
On the "Replicator," I am not familiar with those programs so I'm not sure whether TS7.51 has an equivalent tool. Maybe somebody else here could answer that one for you.
I can tell you this though, when it comes to your stated objective of "collaboration," trueSpace and shared space leave everyone else in the dust, so you are on a very bright path now for sure!;)

I am downloadin Right now...
Couldnt they have made a One installer Download for all content...
This would have been my Main Complaint as a "Betatester"...And I have been Betatesting for a few years now...
Most annoying this is...
I am sorry but I hate Multiple downloads,Now lets see if I have the Proper Docs to Properly install 7.5 without getting rid of 6.6.. |
