Hi,

does VRay for TrueSpace have all the features of the version for

3dsMax, C4D, etc, or is each version customized?

There is such a difference in price.

no. Vray for ts costs less and has also just some of the features of the original vray.

I can't tell about Cinema4d vray but the vray versions from Asgvis (http://www.asgvis.com/) are nearly as powerful as the original vray for 3ds.

I also don't know how far in development the standalone version from vray is.

My understanding of the technicalities of it is that V-Ray is the same "under the hood", but the controls etc revealed in the control panels are different (in other words, the engine under there is the same, as it is the V-Ray engine, but there is a different dashboard there). So the number of features / parameters you can access to change and adjust how the render is done is different.

I can't comment on the engine being identical, as my belief is that there are different updates etc, so there could be differences there, but the primary differences are in the controls.

HTH!

Ok, thanks....I research it more. I actually don't have a need for it yet,

but it's good to know what the feature differences are besides the price

difference.
