Hi all

I`ve been using truespace software (6.6/7.5 and gamespace)for just under 7 months. As the software is more easy to use, i have managed more than i expected, i am working on an animation scene but i need to add audio(speech, background noise etc).

Can anyone suggest an audio software that is just as easy to use for someone like myself who is a beginner and that it is compatable with Truespace.

I have looked on the Darkbasic (gamecreators) web site, and i have downloaded the a trial of each one which are o.k but not quite what i am looking for, also i would rather buy boxed cd sofware rather than download.

Any help would be great

Thankyou

Miles

Sound Forge is nice for recording, and it offers a nice array of editing tools. I think it's really good for sound effect editing. You may want to try a demo and see what you think.

I had to do some audio editing at work, but didn't have any software installed. I found and downloaded a program called Audacity. I was amazed at how great this software is for editing. I haven't tried recording with it though. Best of all, it's free!

If you want to do both video and audio editing/recording, Sony Vegas is nice, too.

I agree with Cuthulu. :)

If you're making movies/animations what you need is non-linear video editor. Sony Vegas is good for video sequencing and the home version is very cheap. On the free side, Virtualdub will combine video (still frames or AVI) with audio to make AVI files, but it's not so good for sequencing.

For music production, Mackie Tracktion can be had for $100. Cakewalk Sonar is best on the market right now if you're running a Vista x64 though.

Audacity is very nice for wave editing and best of all, free. :D

Tracktion is superb, comes with a lot of high quality plugins. How many you'd use just for speech i don't know, but then you're animation may nedd music too.
