As I was modelling, playing around with verticies, I realized that a new artist to the 3D world, while having many questions, will quite quickly come to this puzzle... how would a pro best ('best' meaning, least amount of verts for the smoothest, animatable, finish) fix these vert problems hilighted in red?
It's something we all struggle with on a daily basis. I thought this might help many, so... who wants a go at it?
(PS: you can attach as many new verts to the long straight edge as you wish)

I've attached a pic to show how I would handle the parts shown in the rectangular area.


The faces around the circled area appear to be quads. That may be the best you can do there without a whole lot of reconstruction.
