Hello again,
TS 7.51
From default, the selection is set to object (White arrow), this also allows the selection of multiple faces etc simply by left click and drag over the object.
When I choose a different tool, such as "lasso", then as expected, I use lasso to select, pick "select and move" and again as expected (and so on), but when I go back to select object (white arrow), select another object, the last type of selection is still active (Lasso / pick and move etc). I can find no way (within workspace) to go back to the default type of section. (In model side~ there is the icon for multi select that does do this.) Should not the "select object" in workspace cancel the other selection types? Is there a way to go back to default selection type in workspace?

the big white arrow ONLY selects at object level..right click and you enter edit mode..which ever selection tool you last used in edit mode becomes active..
a right click on or around the object being edited or left click on big white arrow to leave edit mode |

I will explain again:
Workspace:
On default installation, the selection method is multi. I can select multi poly etc with a left click and then drag the mouse over the object to add to selection. After selecting any other method (Lasso etc), I cannot find a way to revet back to the default multi select method.
I want to be able to go back to default multi select method without my constant need to delete the default.ctx file. |

you must mean the 'pick and paint selected' tool in edit mode
to multi select objects you hold ctrl while adding to selection..shift to remove from selection.
you can also use the ctrl method in edit mode, with the 'pick and move selected' tool, lasso, and rectangle tool |
