Just me again with two more questions.

First: In "Player" view, in Truespace 7, the default floor is a checkered tile. Is there a way to change that to a custom surface?

Second: What is the default FPS rate of the Truespace 7 animator?

You can change the size and colour of the squares by selecting your 3d viewpoint (just click in the scene somewhere) then go to the Settings Tab in the Stack View. Here you can change the background colour he size and colours of the ground grid and so on.

For a truly customised surface texture you can simply turn the grid off and replace it with a plane or cube object painted with whatever texture you wish.

FWIW I only use the grid when modeling - if composing a scene I turn the grid off and put in my own ground object. I also have a specially saved Ground Reference cube already painted with a numbered coloured grid - useful for plotting basic animation movements prior to loading the animated object into the final scene.

As to your second question - click in your Anim View to select that window - the Settings Panel in the stack view will change to show the AnimPref (Animation Preferences) panel where you can set all manner of base conditions for your animation including the frame rate.

Hope this helps.
