I created a whole new layout with all the tools where I wanted them, then closed the default toolbars and saved the layout.

But now, I want one more tool from one of the default toolbars.

I can, of course go to a default layout to see the default toolbars, but that doesn't help me to modify the new layout.

Is there a way - from within the new layout - to reopen the default toolbars so I can grab one more tool without ruining the new layout?

Or is there a way to import a tool?

Thanks for any clues.

There is Button libraries. If Drag and Drop a button into the Link Editor, you can then Ctrl + Drag it to your toolbar.

Thanks TrueBlue,

That is the answer, except, I do not find the particular button I need in any of those 12 button libraries. I am hunting for the Dynamic Pose tool. Can you tell me in which library you find it, if you do. I found most of the buttons which are grouped with it in the default toolbar, but not that button.

[update] I have now searched the entire computer looking for the button - which should be an .RsObj file. There is no Dynamicpose.RsObj, no Dynapose.RsObj, etc. Any clues about its 'real' name? I could import it into a button library if I could find it.

Thanks

Run this script in the Link Editor:

TrueBlue,

The installer did not work when I clicked the "start" button.

However, I read your script - noted that the name was DynaPose.RsObj and found it (RS Data folder) with search (why search didn't find it before, I can not say). Then your first instructions (drag from LE to toolbar) did work so I have the button.

Thanks again. Problem solved.

Glad to here but I am sure the script loaded that button into the Link Editor it most likely is hiding behind other object. If you select Arrange from the Link Editor's menu after running the script, you should see it. The reason you found it in the RS Data folder is because the script saved it there.
