If I make a simple cube, the info box tells me that the scale and the BB (bounding box) size are the same. If I grow the cube, the two remain the same and grow together.

Previously I made a glass bottle and foil cap. But note that the info box now tells me they are the same scale (which is the wrong scale in both cases and all three dimensions are identical) and different BB sizes (which are right - the two should, and do - add up to about 12 inches tall).

Can anyone explain this? Shouldnt the two stay the same? Am I supposed to ignore scale and watch BB size when setting the size of objects?

Thanks for any clues.

John, can you upload a scene with the two objects that will produce the odd info box results?

this is correct behavior (except that bbox should be aligned to local coordinates and not world; this is bug).

scale is how the object is scaled. For example if you have a box that is 2x2x2 and scale 5x5x5, you see box 10x10x10. Here bbox tells 10x10x10, scale tells 5x5x5.

In modeler you see only bbox size, ws shows both scale & size.

Sorry to take so long to reply - I was gone. Thanks for replies.

Jack,

File is attached here.

Tomasb,

If I understand, there is original size (which is hidden info) x scale = bb size (actual size). And the Normalize Scale button will yield the original (otherwise hidden) size.

Now I understand. Thanks.
