Could somebody tell me where is the import option in Truespace 7.6? I can't find obj or lwo import option in File - Load menu. Looks like only picture extensions there.

thanks

Hi kirk. Switch to Model view by pressing the Model tab in the upper left hand corner.

Then over on the upper right, you will see a tab called TS6 Files.

Click that, then select Load, then select Object.

In the dropdown list you will see *.lwo and *.obj.

Then you can switch back over to Workspace side to work with the 7.6 'side' of things. Model side is classic, version 6.6 side.

The Luuv plugin for model side does a better job that the built in OBJ import. It came with your 7.6 install and can be found in the trueSpace7.6\ts\tsx directory.

Use the LUUV.tsx file that came with 7.6 though, since the latest version from the author actually crashes TS for some reason. :(

I thought the luuv plug-in was a more robust way of doing this?

EDIT: Great minds think alike eh Jack!

Thanks a lot to everybody, but I still need some help because tS dosn't open my obj and lwo files ( from Blender) How can I install that LUUV plugin and where it then should appear in the program? I found some button for "Package manager" and thought it should be there but after I try to "install new" and open the "luv" folder I see no file with "truespace extention". Also can't find anything it the manual.

LUUV is a Model side plugin.

1. Switch to Model side by clicking the Model tab.

2. On the bottom portion of the screen, you should see an icon very similar to the Plugin Manager icon on the Workspace side. Click it.

3. A window opens. Double click the luuv folder.

4. Select luuv.tsx

5. Press Open

6. When you do this, you will see, next to the Plugin icon, another icon on the left, called OBJ.

Click that and another dialog opens prompting you for the file.

And you should be good to go Kirk.

If you have any trouble with it please post!

Thank's a lot again. I've managed to open my scene. One more question: Is there a button that focus scene on selected object, vertex, poly etc. Something like "." in Blender or "F" in others?

Yes; there is the Look At icon.

First, Click your object in the scene.

In Workspace side, to the left of the Physics Sim icon (The black rubber tire with a blue arrow) is a hollow green square. That is the Reset View tool.

Click and Drag that icon.

A popup icon menu appears.

Select the icon next to the Reset View tool. This icon is the Look At Selection tool.

And you're Gold!

Double clicking the middle mouse button will center the object in both Workspace and Model views. It will also center PE selections in the Workspace, but not on the Model side. There is also a "Look At Selection" button in the bottom toolbar near the left side that works with the Workspace view.

What Dele said.
You can select camera (click on it's legs) and using "look at selection" you can focus on an object, vertex etc.
You can also use the "look at" icon to have object align to each other.
I have both icons highlighted in the attached pic. Just by playing with each you'll quickly see what I mean.
