Well I found some time now that many of my clients are on holidays

to continue some of my personal projects.

As nobody here opposed to the basic shape of the turntable

here is how far I have made it !

Yes Kena the needle is there now and I will post some pictures of it

here ;).

Great effect with the translucency of that blue base, very nice.

If I may make a suggestion: the needle holder and arm seem a bit old-fashioned compared to this great modern look of the rest. Something more roundish perhaps? I would also think of a round screen, the rpm indicator, in the knob on the left. The screen suggests that you will operate the turntable as we are looking at it now. Is that not awkward and would it not be easier to stand in front of the long axis? Picky, picky, I know, but it is because I like it a lot!

Cheers

It just occurred to me now that you have a needle.... Is this turn table for 45 rpm records only? How do you mount the larger ones?

No its for the big disks too ! That thing in the middle

comes on top of the disk and is the damper.

those are pretty common in high fidelity !

Here you cqan see every player has one of them !

http://www.transrotor.de/code/de/start/index.html

while normal players just have a small stick....

I tried to make the arm as common as possible because

they are almost always second party made .....

I have not seen very many custom ones that where looking like

spaceship arms !:D

I can only realy remember the B&O tangentional one from the

70s !

Glad you like the overall design !

Apart from that the tonearm was to much work to redo.... hahaha :D

Here are some renders of the details (clay like) of the tonearm

ah, I understand now. Kind of like an extra bit of weight to keep the disk from slipping. Good design.

For the arm, I think it fits well with the rest of the player.
