What is the file name and size of the file you have downloaded? Sounds to me like the download cut off early leaving you with only a partial file.
You might want to try a download manager program, which will resume if a download gets cut off early - but letting us know the file size will confirm if you have the whole file or not.

Tom thank you for your response
The file size should be 130 megs ? right
I use a high speed line and it shows the file size of 130 megs have been downloaded.
when I tried this last time it shows the file size of 127 megs before I download the program
Hmm could there be a problem with the file I use a download manager to download all of my software
is it an exe or a zip file.

Those are the right sizes. The file is an .exe. The error message that it isn't a program definitely sounds like a corrupted download though, I can't think what else might generate that message (since we know it is a program else no-one would be able to run it ;) ).
What OS are you installing on btw? It won't run on anything prior to XP, and this message I think might be generated if Win98 or similar is used.
Thanks!

Can you try to install it on the other machine? Just want to make sure the problem is on your PC or you didn't get the file properly.

Same thing happened to me.
I haven't attempted to re-download since I am on dialup.
I used "Free Download Manager". It resumes.
I think a lot of trouble might be solved if FTP download was available for such large files. |

File size difference - remember that 130,000 is not actually 130Mb, given that a Mb is 1024Kb and not 1000 Kb. So sounds like file sizes are correct.
No-one else has reported a problem like this one, and it still sounds like a corrupted download (since why else would the install not be recognized as a program, given that it is, unless some data in it was messed up so it no longer could execute).
Are both computers on the same network, or was the program downloaded from a different internet connection? I'd try downloading elsewhere (like an internet cafe or a friend's) and then try that download on your machines.

try with clear all your internet cache before redownload.
without clear browser cache, repeat download should give same result. |
