When going through some of the tutorials, there is a section where a new layout is created in TS7 - the default layout has one large window attached to the window with the library/panel/setting tabs, and the video shows a new window being docked between the original window (formerly attached to the right panel) and the right panel - try as I may, I can't get TS7.6 to do this - the new windows all insist on being floating windows overlaying the original default workspace window, which won't detach from the right panel.

Am I missing something or was there a change from 7.1 (tutorial video) and 7.6?

thanks

Hold CTRL while dragging the window for it to snap into place in the layout rather than be a floating window.

Thanks Tom - that helps (sort of) - have to play with it more - it's hard to learn this program with outdated tutorials (and I can't whine too much about a free program ;) ) but there's enough potential that I'll keep plugging away and if I can master it (and forget some of what I learned in TS 5 and 6.6), I'll probably get work to buy me the V-Ray product!

It's not possible to keep tutorials up to date, always revisiting to bring them up to speed, it's true. But that's what the forums are for, always on, live help based on the up-to-the-minute latest versions and news :)

Just keep searching the tech FAQ thread, and asking questions, and it will nicely supplement the videos, manual and tutorials.
