So I am trying to make a library with all of my 2d concept art so I can stick it into Truespace and model off of them, but when I try and put the library folder in as a new library, only the main folder is their and none of the files come up. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

If you right-click on "Main Library Place" in the library browser and select "Create Library" it will create a new library folder in the RS Main Libraries. (...Caligari/ts/RS Main Libraries/newfolder). You would then need to put all your 2D files into that folder.

Alternative: Instead of selecting "Create Library" you can select "Create New Library Place" to create libraries outside of the RS Main Libraries. Use the dialog to browse to the location of your 2D folder then enter the name you want to use for it in the library browser. Your new library place can have of sub-folders.

Either way, it's going to take TS a number of seconds to generate the thumbnails when you first double-click a folder to open it in the library stack.

I have done that but none of my images appear as choices, it just makes one sub category, that I supposed holds all of my images as objects (they appear over on the objects panel but not in my library), and when I try and drag them onto my plane to try and use as reference nothing happens. I dont know if the size is to big (1969x2234, I have my plane set to that size as well) or if it not appearing in my library, just in my objects panel, is part of the problem.

Yes, the folder is what is added as a library. The contents of that library is what shows up in the right panel stack.

Materials can be dragged onto an object, but a bitmap is not a material. You need to apply a textured material to your panel then specify your bitmap as the texture image in the material editor. There's a material in the 'Materials - DX9 library called "Texture" that you can use.

You can create materials in the material editor that use your bitmaps as the texture and then save those materials into a library. Then you'd be able to either double-click or drag the material onto your plane.
