Greetings

New user headwax here. I've been using anim8or for 18 months and found truespace 7.6 in the last few days. Looks very exciting. I've done the organics tutorial and it was great - thankyou.

I've managed to customise my keyboard and get a workable set of toolbars to my liking.

BUt I haven;'t seen a flatten faces command.

This tool is one that flattens a face so that is perfectly aligned with one axi or another, depending on user input.

It also works on a group of faces that might have been joined into one and become a bit skewiff.

I was wondering of truespace had a similar tool and if it doesn't, what is the work around.(Besides moving the verticie one by one)

My other question:

I have linked my numerical keyboard to the views command, but I never know what view I am in because it does not say "Left" "Right" etc in my window. (I know I should know because I pressed the key :) ). And the icons don't change to reflect the new viewpoint.

Is there a work around for this?

Thanks very much for the program and the tutorials!!

cheers in advance.

looking forward to working in truespace

Thanks, glad you the course and welcome to the forums! :)

There's no "flatten" tool implemented as of yet, but you can do the equivalent by selecting a face or group of faces, switching to tangent coordinate system and scaling them down in Z.

In answer to the second question: no, but it's a good idea. ;)

Thanks very much for the quick and helpful reply Jack!

I look forward to asking more questions :)

The trick is, not to ask the same questions that have already been asked and answered a hundred times before ;)

cheers
