Using TS7.6 how do you add a new workspace window, using the default tab? In the getting started with ts7 video it says to click on the 3d window icon to make a new window, and then hold the Control key down and the window should snap into place. This part works fine in making a second window tiled vertically H, but how do you get it to snap into a horizontal positioned window? That is to make two windows of the same height oriented horizontally, [][].

Thanks,

Joe

Click the "3D Window" button (see screenshot), which will create a new window. Then hold down CTRL and click and drag the top of the new window to the top of the main 3D window (to place one over the other) or to the left side of the main window (to place one beside the other). Do it slowly and you will see the new layout in outline before you release the mouse button.

Johnhoward,

Thanks for the reply, but I can not seem to get it to do the side by side configuration. I keep getting one screen over the other. see screen print.

Is there something I'm missing?

You're close... Hold down the control key and drag it to the middle of the left edge of the screen. That should do it for you.

If that doesn't work, you can always cheat (hehehe)... open the 4-view and delete the bottom two workspace windows. :D

Of course you can always cheat (hehehe)... open the 4-view and delete the bottom two workspace windows. :D

Holding CTRL and moving the window will make it dock with other windows - exacly where it will dock depends on where you move the mouse. Move it to the top of an existing window, and you will get the vertical configuration you have here. Move it over beside the stack, to the right (and not near the top) and you should get a horizontal layout.

Note that the a "ghost" window shows where your window will snap to as you move the mouse around.

HTH!
