First I must say I love truespace 7.6 despite the bugs it currently has.
I haven't even scratched the surface of all the tools/options.
Although I could go on and on how much I like truespace's features I would like to ask a few questions.
Questions in this color have been fully answered
Questions with a "*"have have a solution
1. How do I seperate a mesh to several or more seperate sub-objects like the egg in the objects base panel under library?
2.Are there more shaders I can add to the color shaders, displacement shaders, reflectance shaders, and transparent shaders libraries? If so where can I get them?
*3.How can i make it so when I open truespace 7.6 it doesn't open up the last project I worked on?
(I had already tried holding the control key while loading up truespace. Doesn't work) |

I don't know about the others, but here is one solution for #3 - make sure after you've saved your project, that you hit the reset scene icon (the one that looks like a door on a grid). There is an icon like that on both the Model side and Workspace. A window will tell you that everything will be deleted, but it'll be a 'clean slate' the next time you start. Just Make Sure you save everything first.

There are two shader plugins (ShaderLab and ShaderMagic) that allow you to create your own shaders, or use shaders others have made for each plugin. Check out this thread for links:

Answer to question 1: That would be the "separate selection" tool. ;)
#2 depends on what render engine you are using... |

I tried to use the seperate selection tool but i am having trouble selecting faces in the modeling side.
Nevermind. I realized the "remove from selection" was active
after seperating the selection does it automatically add the faces in-between the seperated faces?
edit: I guess it doesn't add the faces. So the only way that can be done is manually for each piece. Correct? |

Separate selection is a Workspace tool, you need to use workspace selection tools to make your selection. |

It is also on the modeler side too. |

Aye, that it is. ;) The Model-side version works more like the Workspace copy selection tool though.
Keep in mind that if you make an object into two separate meshes that you cannot connect geometry between them. The sweep tool might be more what you're looking for if you want to extrude a selection of faces. On workspace side, you also have the Cut, Copy, and Bridge tools, which you may want to also check out. |

What I do is take two opposite sides and make them one seperated object.
Does the bridge tool take two faces and connect them?:D |

Yep the bridge tool is used to create a tube connecting between the initial selection and the selection made after activating the tool. Pressing Enter or clicking the icon again will complete the tool. Note that it's designed to work on a single mesh, so there may be issues with trying to use it to connect polygons between objects that have been grouped but are being edited simultanously.
You can have non connected faces in the same mesh, btw. |

Welcome! :D
Was actually really surprised to have gotten the award since I had been less active on the forums at the time due to beta testing and working on the Workspace Organics Modeling course. :o |
