Hi !!
I have DL'ed tS7.6, and I am wondering how to get a render. It always says, I need to install an offline renderer first.
But: http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSpace/ts75/Brochure/Rendering_LW.asp?Cate=BRendering_lw and siblings say there is one (actually three!) included (??).
Multipass Rendering for Lightworks, previously available as a separate $199 product, is now standard.
Virtualight Renderer is now seamlessly integrated into trueSpace7. It supports caustics as well as Global Illumination
The real-time DX9 renderer in trueSpace7 has approached photorealistic quality while preserving real time interaction with your work. Well, This one is present, but seemingly only for the display, or I am too dumb to find a way to save an image with it.
(I already have seen the render to file thong, but ( :( ) no settings so far...)
What would be the options, for using an offline renderer ? Free recommendations preferred and appreciated !!
What plugin is missing from the "MusicMachine" scene? tS6-FileOpen tells me that it misses a plug-in.... )?(
Also, is there a manual/reference for the scripting, an SDK available yet ??
THANX for bearing with me ! Hope to switch sides from asking to explaining soo...n

Thanx !!
I guess, I have to get used to the separate modes of Workspace and Model. Being not used to that separation I was insisting to have the render in the Workspace mode... Because Model is for Modeling only !!!
That means, two worlds are about to collide ... ;)
Prepare for more Questions (sorry!)

The Model side is just an unfortunate name :) The workspace is actually the best place to model in. The Model side is named that for historical reasons (from way back when it was a better place to model, about 2 or 3 years back), and since it was called that, it was impossible to start swapping the name around.
Best ignore the naming though and just think like this - workspace is tS7.6; Model is tS6.6. Swap between the two as needed. tS7.6 has all the new tools and functions for modeling, physics, skeletons, animations (and uses the new real-time and optional V-Ray render engines). Model side has all the legacy functions, legacy plug-ins, and tS6.6 render engines (Lightworks and Virtualight).
HTH!

There was talk at some time of calling model side 'Legacy' or such like to differentiate from the workspace being where you used to model.
If you think that is bad, the early workspace used to be called player...now that was confusing. I have been using tS for so long that I cannot imagine how confusing this must look to a newcomer!
Still, one day soon it should all just be the 'workspace' side and no need for tabs and bridges...:D |
