Hi people.
Now after a quick overview of Truespace i'm curious about the collaboration abilities. Is it possible to make my own room? Let's say to tell a RT Story for example? Would be great for the future.... :D
Greetings

There used to be the trueServe product where you bought your own server. I had the chance to play around with this when it launced but I did not have the free time to fully explore it. It was very expensive and I think it is now defunct since MS bought Caligari (sure Tom or Norm can confrim). If you had a vailable project I am sure it might be possible somehow to arrange for uch a room...even in the name of testing.
Again, a Caligari official would need to advise here...:o |

It's possible to make your own room, but you'd need to talk to us direct about hosting. trueServe is not available for purchase right now as Paul points out (and wouldn't have been a good solution for hosting your own room due to the pricing!).
So if you are serious about having such a thing as your own room, get in touch and ask about it, we can see then how many people are interested in such a thing, and discuss how best such a need could be met.
HTH!

Thanks for answering this.
I actually don't have a finished project. Not jet. But i'm on my way.
At the moment i'm modeling some architectural scifi stuff to study the TS basics. Next to this i'll try to understand the physics, activitys and RT-Shader functions of TS. Yesterday i put some ready to use Highpoly Starships into the Workspace. Amazing....smooth rotating and all advanced funktions on. My goal is to tell a Story in 3d, just in Gamecinematics quality but in Realtime.
The idea behind is to have invisible people who can watch the Story in 3d but without interaction to the scene/story itself.
But i see, it's not that easy as in a Gamesever......
At the moment I'm not familiar enough with TS to set a realistic goal.
For now, after finishing some interior stuff, I'll post something in WIP. ;)
Greetings

When you get samples, a storyboard, some kind of definition of functionality, then just send it to me, kind of making the case for your intended use, then we can see how that need might be met.
Sounds like an interesting project, a kind of machinima idea. I often thought this would be good - while machinima has conventionally used game engines to make traditional 2D end product, tS and the shared spaces allow for the same thing (real-time creation of events and actions using a real-time render engine), but then it could be viewed in 3D, watch the events unfold from any chosen angle.
The viewer could then watch several repeats of the story, from different places, perhaps that would change the story as different things would be seen happening at the same time in different locations.
Could make for a great music video too!
Anyway, on the original question, do let me know when you have some fixed ideas, content etc that would clearly show your use and your needs, then we can take it from there!
Thanks!
