Ever since I installed 7.6 I've clicked various things not knowing they were going to change or remove some part of the interface. I've been trying to explore, at first with the assumption that if I screwed it up I could reset all the defaults and keep exploring. Well, how the heck do I do that? I can't find anything either in the manual or the program that will let me do it.

When I look at the video tutorials my program looks different than their program. I can't find some of the toolbars they use: for example the introductory tutorial says to always exit with that little icon on the lower left, which I don't seem to have. Probably my own fault but I don't know what to do about it.

I don't have a whole lot of hair left at my age and this is putting the little bit I do have in danger. Will some kind soul please tell me how to get TS back to it's default state without re-installing it?

Thanks,

Barry (balding by the minute)

Hi Barry. Welcome to truespace!

One way to get back to the default is, in the upper right portion of the interface, is a set of Tabs. One is called Default. Click that, and your interface will be restored to the original configuration.

The 'Exit' icon (the standard Windows 'X') should be located in the upper right hand corner of the interface.

There is also the File->Exit option in the same area.

HTH!

When you start TS, hold down the Ctrl key and left click on the program icon. In the small window that opens, click default configuration.

I just tried that and it seems to have brought some things back but my configuration still doesn't have the toolbars that the introductory tutorial has.

The exit button I mentioned is from the "Getting Started with TS7" tutorial in the first video. The guy says not to use the Windows X button to shut down TS but to use a different button on a toolbar that I don't have. I wonder if that might have changed from TS7 to TS7.6?

Thanks for telling me about using the Ctrl key. That may be what I needed and the other differences might be just version changes since the tutorial was made. Time will tell.

Which intro tutorial?

Yes it has-just close TS like a normal Windows program-no problems.

The tutorials are not as up to date as they could be. Getting better, but...

The tutorial in question is circa ts7.0, when the closing of trueSpace was indeed from a different button as the tutorial indicates. Since then, this "scenario" was rectified and you can not use the "x" to close trueSpace (or the window the "x" appears on).

The tutorial will still hold value despite the inconsistency of the toolbar/icon mentioned.

Hope this helps somewhat :)

Yep! It helps. Although I already went through the tutorial. It's a useful one.

Thanks for replying.
