Hi, I am completely new to this so much so, I may not understand your advise.
My workplace seems to disappear when doing what I think would be basic task, I have reinstalled trueSpace and does the same thing.
It happens after drawing a shape and then going back to make a second shape or right clicking. Usually bring it back by clicking a couple of Icons. I can choose another shape and draw it, but have no idea where it is going until after the reappearing object is started. I made a avi file to explain.... but this forum doesn't seem to except them.
Thanx, Ron
I have a Intel core 2 Quad processor 6600, 3 Gb mem, and Geforce 8400 Gs Graphics card. |

Could be a driver issue, what driver version are you using?
To post the AVI, just zip it and post the .zip. That would be useful to see :)

What happens if you enable Bloom and SuperSampling in the Stack/Settings/Postprocess panel? Does that help? Most likely should update you driver though for sure. |

Right click on the desktop in an empty space, and choose "NVIDIA Control Panel". Click on Help, then choose System Settings. There it will list the ForceWare version, this tells you the drivers you are currently using, you can paste that number here and it may give some clues.

Hi Ron,
You need to update your driver. The 169.xx series drivers have problems with TrueSpace. The 177.xx driver series solves those problems.

Yes, exactly as Jack says - the driver you are using is very old and had problems with tS, and you should update your driver. I use the NVIDIA site itself for that:

Tom, that gives the 175.19 drivers which have known HLSL and shadow issues. The 177.xx driver series addresses those issues.
Note even Ogre3D had problems with the 175 series and had to issue a patch. I recommend skipping the 175 ones and downloading the 177 beta drivers. Which you can get from the nVidia site, but need to click where it says "Beta and Archived Drivers"
Also note that "Latest" drivers isn't always the best solution. It's more important that the drivers actually work. So keep a copy of your working driver installer so you can revert if new drivers break TS. |

You can choose the beta drivers from NVIDIA from that site, which is what I normally do :) I've been using the 175.19 for some time (as in, 2 or 3 months) on my 8800 without seeing any issues though too, but did move up to the beta recently. The last known issues I had were in the release from Dec 07, replaced in May or so of this year.
As a note, non-NVIDIA sites often release super-early beta, before they appear on NVIDIA, and I don't like to use those as they can be too new and untested for my tastes. Beta drives on the NVIDIA site though at least have gone through some approval for release to the public, which is why I like to use it as my only source of drivers.
