Well like any project you have to start with an idea. I've been tossing around several but the "Rube Goldberg" contraption keeps coming to mind. Just so you know where I'm headed, I picture a Hamster wheel, a 10 speed bike, 6 sheep, a tesla coil, some electrical device, lots of belts and gears just to begin with...
I've always been fascinated with contraptions and remember seeing MadMouse's animated gif. I enjoyed studying these inventions of taking a simple task and making it extremely difficult.
Although the concept is based on a Rube Goldberg, I want the viewer to immediately realize this is a "Steinie". We will see if I can accomplish that goal.:) |

Well I have watched all the cool ideas coming in on this Challenge and I'm enjoying them all. Very creative bunch!
My entry will not be up for vote since I'm running this one but I still plan on submitting a rendering. You all will have to decide if this will be a one month or two month contest. Just let me know and I'll go with it.
Here is my WIP...
I wouldn't mind more entries you lazy bums!!!:D |

I'm working on it. I've had several crashes lately, so I've already had to restart 5 times. :D |

Slowly but surely step by step....
I still have to model a couple of hands for crazy computer nerd. One holding the motherboard and the other on top of the generator.
I can't help thinking this is the result of a Rube Goldberg Salvador Dali mix and their offspring painted this. (or basket weaving)
Edit: Added hands
Next step: who/what is on the bike? |

I don't think I can make a useful comment as I don't have the foggiest what's going on! It looks fascinating and zany and totally bewindering - as usual! Is that a giant patterned egg-cup floating in the top-right?! :D
Look forward to seeing how it all ends up but no doubt I won't get all your hidden jokes as your sense of humour is too complex for me! ;)
Edit - one constructive thought - the sheep look fab but their faces are maybe a bit shiny? I guess perhaps they're exerting themselves.... |

Don't worry Nez, when this gets done a description of each part will be attached. It is suppose to be bazaar.
If you aren't familiar with "Rube Goldberg" contraptions check this out...
http://www.anl.gov/Careers/Education/rube/rubeback.html
That will give you a clue on what is happening in my rendering. I just wanted to try something different. Based on the feedback (or lack of) I would say this is over the top. My Artwork is like the canned meat product Spam, "I think its good if I knew what was in it..."
When it's done it should be quite funny. (now repeat to self 5 more times...)
Edit: thanks Jack! |

I full expect to see the ET boy or Wicked Witch of the West on that bike riding like a "BMX bike pro sans hands on the bar," pumping furiously to drive the Frankenstein Van der Graf generator to power the electric sheep shearer.
This of course is the results one will have by installing tS7.51, Windows Vista and "Chimpanzee Circus" software on your computer, all at the same time. :D
Or, it's another Steinie original. :)
Looking great your Steinieness! |

Well, I can kind of see where this is going, though I'm not sure how the balloon connects to the rest just yet. Definitely interesting, though! |
