You can get some very nice ones in the Garage forums right here.

At least a couple of us made them for everyone to share.

Hi TheScottishBloke,

Make sure you e-mail in the dump reports when they happen, also make sure to post a bug report especially if it's reproducible.

creating your own Vray materials is as follows

- create your matereial with the Vray shaders

- keep the object selected

- right click into Vray Materials

- select insert

and there you have now your own Vray material which you can drop on any object

if you have an object where different faces have different materials and you want some of them

- start Vray Matereial Editor

- use Color picker tool to get material from wanted face

- create a dummy object with that material

- keep the dummy object selected and use Rightclick/Insert to save that material as described above

But that is not all, materials have to be seen in their whole invironment which includes the whole scenery with for example view angle, shadows, specila effects, GI settings, ......

Just let us look at the material which was set up above. Imagine you

- have the object with that material from a nice looking scenery,

- pick it with the Color picker tool

- put it on your own object inside your scenery

and then --- disappointment --- it looks different in your scene. The reason ar all the influencing params outside the shaders as already mentioned above. So here just two different examples where the view angle and the sky light angle was changed.

Notice especially how the scenery looks in the second sample, where you wont't even see the details but in the final render you can see something, while in the first sample you won't see the ballon in the scene, but it turns out brilliant in the final render, almost like a photography

Some more examples can be found in the PDF manual shown here
