You'll never get FAA clearance without wingtip lights.
I'm also waiting for the rickety stovepipe to appear...you know... for the moonshine still that there's obviously room for in the back of the bus.
As a plus, in an emergency you can use it for fuel. |

I think you have the wings and engines down now. Just a few tweeks and you will be about done. Instead of running lights, you could always use oil lamps :D |

Ok here is a new image. I have added the rear stableizers and rudder. I also redid the engines and the props. |

Is that a "Redneck Razor"?:D
This really is coming along, rjeff. Are we going to see this puppy in action? |

The new props look great (if rather dangerous!) and the wings are much better too. The engine housings are quite cool, if a bit sophisticated looking for this old banger (no offence!)
This is really shaping up well... |

Ok..so I need to scoot the engines out a bit then? As far as seeing it in action..I might..I just need to learn how to animate first. |

rjeff, No I didn't mean animate it (you can if you want) but put it in an action shot like it is about to take off, or show it in flight. |

I might not slide the engines out too far, maybe make the wings a bit smaller (back to front) and slide them back a bit so the propellers swing behind the open door. That way our red-necks can toss barbecue out and watch it be shredded by the wings ;) |

But Kena..who is gonna catch it? BBQ is messy enough!!..Not sure Steinie what I am gonn do for my final scene... given how much time I have left that may be the fastest way to do it. Will just have to some photoshop to blur the props. |

Nice flying RV!
Your Wing-a-bego is looking good. :D
Here, I made a sign for all those pesky hitchhikers that might plague the sky while the RV is flying about. :D |

Thanks James..I will have to work that in some where. Here is what I feel is my final model. The only thing left to do it tweak the tires some. Then it is on to textures and scene. I took Kena's advice and tweaked the wings and motors..I added my "deer hunter" spot lights for my running lights and add a 4 ft wip cb antenna. I also softed up the lighting some. |

Yes.. Much less dangerous for those who like to fling their meals out the door. ;)
Looks like you have a good basic model here. Can't wait to see your final render. |

It has become a great RV and I love the BBQ idea. Alternatively you could double the propellers and make them somewhat smaller.
Of course, when you want to show this thing in action you will have to replace the props with an alpha mapped plane that resembles swinging rotors. I made one some time ago and will attach it when I find it.

I appreciate that Goerg. I did not think of the alpha map for my spinning props. I gues tha would work since you loose the detail of the props once spun up. |

The roof looks a little bare... how about whipping up a couple doodads like an AC unit, the stinkpipe, or a skylight.
Don't forget the row of marker lights along the front/top edge.
Although you can't see it from this angle, there's just gotta be those chrome naked lady mudflaps on the rear wheels... or at least Yosemite Sam proclaiming: "Back Off!" |

you have read my mind kadet...there are a few things I need to add once I thought about it. Thoes are a few good things I will look into..and the mud flapps idea is one that I have to do...I plan on doing different profile renders..not so much for the mmc but later. |

Here is the TGA file I promised. I made it in PS by adding swirl effects to propeller blades I had drawn. In the RAR file there is a 32 bits TGA file of it. Paint a square plane with it and put in the place of the props, looks really convincing. Leave the hub of the props in place.

Nice work RJeff! Only thing more that you could do would be to UV map and grunge up the textures. |

I've found that both spotlights and infinite lites will give that if you have them up too high. sometimes it's better to have double the lights at half the brightness. |

That is some nice trailer trash you got going on there. :) Who is flying that rig? Would look better if it was turning towards the viewer to show off the wings and tail, I would think. Good job never the less. |

It looks great, Rjeff.
I thought that perhaps it could be fun to tilt the wheels inwards, as a pathetic attempt to improve the aerodynamics of this beast, but perhaps more importantly to give the idea that it is actually flying. Also a mountain top or part of a landscape in the bottom would strengthen that idea.
I think Kena is right, the reflection looks like a light shadow. One light too many?
It was fun to watch it take off!

I agree about it needing some kind of background since the RV doesn't fill up enough of the frame. You could composite it with a sky photo that has some tree tops showing at the bottom.
Also some basic seat shapes inside by the side window would help with the impression that there is something on the inside. |

Thanks for all the input guys..unfortnuately I am going to have to leave it as it. Work is a bit busy now and I am getting tired saying up to 1 in the morning working on it. So I will have to leave it as is. Maybe once things slow down I can come back and tinker on it somemore. Thanks for looking! |
