"And now for something completely different..."
I have a vague idea of what I want this scene to look like. So lets see what happens. |

Thanks James and Wizard, I can always count on you guys for feedback and support. (and humor:))
Here are the VRay settings I tried, not sure if this is the best. I also used two infinite lights too.
Here is my dumb question of the day. Is HDRI and HDR the same thing? I see it mentioned in Photography with FStops. In 3D I see it used with mirrored sphere, capturing the lighting environment. So VRay does GI/HDRI does it also do HDR? |

Looks good to me so far.. I'm sure that more experienced people than myself could help you with the render settings. :D
HDR - High dynamic range
HDRI - High dynamic range Image
and HDR render uses an HDRI, so they are almost the same thing, and often used interchangeably. |

Yah, what was said about HDR and HDRI.
The image is used as a lighting source (in a way).
You can access via the light panel , it's the top one in Model side. Right click to load your image and do settings.
The nice thing about HDRI is that you can rotate the scene and get the same effects as you would with real lights.
Sometimes, I will turn all lights off except HDRI and use that.
You can also use LDRI the same way. Low DRI- Images that are just regular images. i.e. - your favorite photograph of purple bunnies jumping in the snow will give nice bright image with purple reflections. :D |

Thanks guys for the HDR....I education.
Small update playing with fabric ideas. I picture everything being overdone on her.
She will also be getting her hair done soon and I also picture big diamond earrings once I learn how to make them...;)
Maybe also a big old flower arrangement on the top left?
This one will be my "Peasant Girl" Look. She could use some tooth decay but the "Pirate" received my treatment already. She got off easy... |

First thought that springs to mind is "When Muppets Go Bad"
You know in the musical numbers where they have loads of extras like a basket of singing cabbages, etc. Stick a few of these in a row and it'll be like your worst Muppet nightmare unfolding before you :-)
I like Muppets, for the record. |

WWoW I know exactly what your are talking about and that would be scary!
Of course my scary thought was if these things were Door Knobs in Perry White's Office....
I like Lois Lane for the record. |

What would be really funny is if her date was a thin well-dressed man who was actually blind!
Like the hair Idea... I've played with it a little myself in the past, but I'm waiting for a more stable version of TS to work it more.... Have other things "in the fire" now. :D |

This is looking great! I think it will work fine with the stylized hair via the displacement map. I love the teeth.

The drop down showing the wrong Rendering Engine is a known bug. Thanks for the catch Rayman.
Kena and Ed_Baker sure glad you like her, she is really one of my 2D characters being brought to life. Her brother is named "Chopper" and maybe I'll create him in 3D in a future rendering.
Animated her? hmmmm I tend to work with high poly counts so she won't be the best candidate for that. I'll experiment at the end.
Glad you like her, she is going to take us places your worst nightmare couldn't imagine. Hint: It's a small world after all....;) |

Designed, modeled and rendered some earrings for (what they call her at my office) "Lotta Teeth"
I want to thank Rayman for his "Making a Diamond" instructions. This was my first try and they came out pretty good.
This is her Glamour shot. |

This thread frightens me - but in the way it was meant to, so that's a good thing :) Great character, nice to see something created that is not the "standard" look. I like these sort of caricature looks. Hope we see more!
Thanks!

Thanks Tom, Peter, Kena, trueBra:D, and spacekdet!
My older Brother always had these models of RatFink Characters which we painted. They all had these enormous pearly whites so big teeth worked itself into my own works.
She's scary? The real scary parts aren't even done yet!:D Stay tooned... |

My running shoes are on, and I am out of here! Though curiosity will likely lead me back for another look to see what comes next (and we all know what that did to the cat).
