Well, I finished one project and now feel the need to revitalise another. One of Paul Boland's favourites I believe...a pretty sad story that needed 'darkening' up a bit.
Bottom image is the original and the top one is a first attempt at a more 'grungier' version. Much work to do here but I really like this book.
Problem is always that your latest project makes the last one look a bit 'ropey' so you feel the need to re-illustrate it...:o |

looking good, but the wallpaper looks like "wallpaper colored paint" instead of torn wallpaper. |

Yeah, having some trouble with that. I made the wallpaper out of Nurb planes then cut holes in them. My intention was to move the CV's a bit to 'peel' the paper away but when I reopen the scene the holes have gone.
Oh well....:( |

I started having the same problem with the floor brace to my air hose in my current WIP. What solved it for me was to add a subdivision layer and then delete it again. That added vertices going from the edges of the holes to the sides and for some reason stabilized the object. |

Well, inspired by the return of Madmouse, I am dusting off the character itself. Amazing how a few years of improving your skills make your older work look so bad. Just wish we had decent hair then I wouldn't need to do this with polygons.
Anyways, here is the result of an hours work on improving the face and eyes. |

definitely an improvement over the earlier work. Amazing how we can see problems when we revisit old models :D |

He needs an emo hairdo.
Give him something to be sad about. |

That's interesting - I thought it was a guy too - possibly because I was reminded of a boy I went to school with.
The upgraded version looks great. |
