Very nice. How did you do the steam in the first image? It looks very effective.:)

Yeah - I really like these. How DID you do that steam? (OT have you seen the movie Steamboy? I recommend it if you haven't and you're interested in animation).

I was impressed with the claustrophobic and menacing feel of these images - I also liked that they focus on being an interesting image as opposed to a demonstration of software capabilities - but then I'm also a HUGE sci-fi fan :D

Good work.

heh, the steam was created with Primal Particles, however all images did undergo post process in Photoshop, with colour corrections and lighting improvements, so it did enhance the steam, however now that i look back on it i wished i had made both shoots of steam look more different. I was surprised with how well they came out, i was considering using PyroCluster for it but the render time would have drivne me crazy heh, these just tulk about 4 minutes to render

At first glance I thought for sure you'd used PyroCluster w/ light attenuation for those blasts of smoke.

The lighting in the creepy-eyeball-thing images is really cool!

Nice work, Matthew!

Matthew, I like these very much especially the pipes with steam, lighting is very good with all of them. I had a question you received special recognition what does that mean exactly, does that mean you where the winner and were awarded first place prize?
