Amazing, one of , if not the only real to life rendering that I have seen to come out of truespace in a looong time. Bravo Daybe, Caligari should be proud of your work and I am sure they will showcase it to sell their product.

If not work like this, I don't know how else they will get the media attention they deserve.

I hope daybe you stay true to truespace for years to come and artists like you would be more than a few.

Very nice work; less cluttered, and 'brighter'(only word I can think of:)).

Good job.

Good luck in both Galleries mate. You deserve a win for your hard work with TS7. I guess we both do....;)

Will be interesting to see how many TS7 entries there are this month too...

Very nice Dave. You are clearly the salt of the earth and your work is peppered with gems of artistic brilliance;) .

Ironically I've entered this months Calligallery with an image of a tabletop scene as well - although as I'm using tS 6.6 it's harder to compete against you tS7 guys with a selection of more up-to-date rendererd available:( .

No mattere what renderer was used you stand a great chance of winning just because of those lovely soft-looking paper napkins!

A great image - good luck with it!

Nice one, :D

Thanks a bunch.

Here is another version based on some suggestions made here and Cgtalk. Some people didn't like the napkins and the film grain.

Cheers,

I liked the napkins better the way they were before. Also, the outside of the mug looks a little too glossy.

Other than that, very nice.

I like everything except the soft edged blurry smudges on the coffee cup. Looking at the current collection of dirty coffee mugs on my desk the drips have hard-edged outlines fading to a lighter shade of coffee in the middle. I cast my vote for the earlier version of the napkin.
EDIT: On closer inspection, I see you have this effect going on with a top to bottom stripe of coffee drippage. That's the right look, but I don't know if it would run all the way down the mug like that. Most of the drips on my real world examples are in the lip area, with only a couple thin drips reaching about halfway down the mug.
EDIT of an Edit: On closer inspection, take a peek at the new caliGallery!
Stick a spoon in it, it's done.

Cool, Thanks for comments, honorable mention is fine with me, would have been nice to win but hey, I don't create images solely for the image contest I build pieces for me and my portfolio. Don't get me wrong Sure it's nice to come in first place once and a while but hey what you going to do, This ain't my baby, it's Romans. ;)

I would have thought you had a goo chance of winning Daybe. Considering a lot of the entries were posted here first I must say the winner was a bit of a 'curve ball'..:) Still, it was well deserved in my opinion.

Daybe, Have you tried to render this scene with the updated VRay to see the time difference? I'd be curious to see how much faster it is today.

You always had nice submissions here, anything new? hint hint...:)

Steinie, Actually I hadn't, maybe this may be just the thing for me to do, been really busy this summer and not much time in front of the computer, but I am really itching to get to work on something.
