Dug out my old motorcycle I did last year and decided to rework it a bit. This piece was created using 2 renders 1 b/w and 1 color render and then some tweaking in photoshop. I am currently In the process of updating my portfolio so any comments or critiques would be welcomed.

What it does puts the focus on the engine. A good way of isolating the surrounding.

Looks great Daybe. I encourage my students to do this sort of thing. When they spend ages getting a good render they are loathe to mess about with it which is a shame. This sort of effect really appeals to me-looks like an illustration anf focuses on the area of interest; a technique often used in concept design...:D

It has a visual appeal which transcends the usual "photorealistic" feel of normal 3D renderings. This is where you cross the line separating the artist from the technician. I like it. Very nice, Dave.

Sorry Stoker, I meant I encourage the 'talented' students to do this. That might explain why we have not had that conversation yet..;) ;) :D

Thanks folks,

Loadus: I saw this earlier when I was visiting CGtalk.

Ya posted it the other day, seems to be fairly well received over there, first time I ever was awarded any stars for an image there:cool:

I love motorcycles as well W!zard, I don't know if you noticed but there seems to be quite a lot of shows on tv nowadays almost everyday of the week devoted to building or riding, Sweet! Can't get enough.

I agree hemulin nice tongue. :p LOL!

Vizu, I have seen your work and this means a lot coming from you. Thx.

Cheers,

Dave

TV? I rarely watch TV. I have a computer and I have tS. With these I can create my own fantasy worlds (free of annoying adverts) and so I watch very little television. (Ok I am a big fan of 'Lost' and I enjoy 'House' too (I'm a Hugh Laurie fan since the days of Blackadder)).

I have noticed a lot more interest in MX and super MX motorcycling but most of my riding was either dirt bikes along the fire breaks or weekend road trips involving major self-induced memory loss!!

Easily the best TV I've seen recently about bikes was 'Long Way Round' - a documentary about Ewan Mcgregor (Obi-wan-kenobi) and his friend and their adventures as they rode from London England to New York, New York via Mongolia, Siberia and Alaska. I have the series on DVD - highly recommended

I hear ya W!zard, Apart from some stuff the TV in my house is turned off. I am a huge fan of Black Adder myself, have the box set and watch it regularly. I have seen the "Long Way Round" and it was great, I will have to keep an eye out for the DVDs.

Cheers,

Congratulations, Dave. All that creative work, vindicated at last! Hopefully, this will provide you with the incentive to produce more powerful imagery like this one.

All the best for the future.
