Following on from a discussion in the Roundtable 'room', here's the original picture of the birds:

I like it,
Looks like it's modelled from clay. The seagul on the water is great, has no clue.
Keep up the great work. |

Nice work. It reminds me of Nick Parks creature comforts. But that probably means nothing to anyone not from the uk. |

It shows on BBC America here in the US (not that that implies a lot of people has seen it). Funny stuff. :) Got most episodes recorded, I think.
I think the picture in the OP is really good. Nice, unique look to it. |

Is you kidding? I enjoy the Aardman stuffs! W&G, Creature Comforts, etc... Nice, nice animating! Oh, and what do you think about the upcoming fully-CGI Aardman/Dreamworks feature "Flushed Away"? Looks promising.
TheWitch: This is one of my favorites of yours, along with the snow scene. I would like to see more clay-like renders. You do this type of thing very well! |

This would be great for an animation, sort of like "For the birds" (a bit like creature comforts - hopefully someone here knows what it is) brilliantly satirical and you could probably accomplish something like it with trueSpace. :jumpy: |

I like the clay look of it. It would make a great claymation scene. |

Hi WWotW
Very cool render - thanks for sharing. Personally I'm a huge fan of seagulls - I have several flocks of them that I stick into many of my external scenes.
Looks like I'm not the only one to draw parallels to the Aardman Animation stuff.
I really love the hand-painted backdrop - lends a real sense that we are looking at a claymation type scene.
Very nice indeed - and I can see why you've been active on the threads to do with animation - these guys are just asking for some movement.
Well done - brilliant characterization IMHO
PS Here's a link to my one of my pics that include seagulls - not as funny as yours though...

The "old hag" strikes again with another strong idea. Keep it up Kate, you're ruling the alternative modelling scene. Lovin' it.
