Hey folks me again,

here is a scene I was working 2 weeks ago, it is for a magazine cover and has been accepted, sweet. The characters are posers models, I had orginally created some half mannequiens in 3d myself but the client wanted something different. Anywho they are the boss. I haven't tried to model a human before, would have tried this time but the deadline was pretty tight.

Rendered using TS7 and Vray 1.0.

C&C always welcome although it has been sent to the client.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

Very nice work. I know you said its already been sent to the client but there are a couple of things that caught my eye. IMHO the bag nearest the camera is just crying out for a little more texture work. It looks a little flat compared to the rest of the scene, and the rather attractive young lady outside the window looks a little false. Maybe its the angle or maybe the lighting but something makes here stand out. But hey, if the client's happy and the money's in the bank who am I to criticise:)

With all that said its still a fine piece of work and you should be proud of it.

Steve.

Nice work Dave - I particularly like the way the mannekins look plastic and stiff but the woman in red looks alive.

The only criticism I have is that you get paid for your work and I don't get paid for mine!!;) One day maybe...

Nice work! This looked like a project having trickey shadows and reflections and you handled it nicely.

Thanks guys.

Madmouse, the woman outside the store front is a bit off but time was a factor and I only had one shot at rendering, I would have liked to correct it for them but it needed to go to print, however I will correct it for my portfolio. The blue bag in front had a bump map orginally but when it rendered it was all distorted because of some bad U/V mapping on my part, so I had to remove it in photoshop, too bad because you are right.

KeithC, thanks for comments about my website, I have been working really hard on it of late about 75% of the images have been updated in the last year and continue to update them.

Cheers,

I like the layout of it; uncluttered, and easy on the eyes while still showing all your work. Very nice.

Great image and site daybe, also really like how you take criticism of your work which shows your professionalism. A real pleasure going through your images on your site and hope you get many more clients, I think you will with the quality and effort you put into your work. Great job and much thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys I appriciate you comments.

I designed the website with the soul purpose of displaying my illustrations so, this is why I used grey as I didn't want anything to distract the viewer from the images themselves. Nothing to fancy just a solid design to showcase my work. This is a typical example of the type of sites I design as well for clients, clean uncluttered look that's easy to navigate.

Noko, my first year in art school helped me develop and thick skin in regards to critiques, all the way through school you could expect your work to be posted up and have everyone have a go at it, can be quite humbling to say the least especially when you think you had created something really great only to find that wasn't the case, which happen on numorous occasions:o . I do find it quite helpful especially here in the TS forums people here tend to constructive when giving comments and there is always room from improvement.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

Great site, the Store front picture is excellent too - the (real) woman looks a little off as she does nto have the same lighting (no shadows on the right like the dummies) but you knew that :-)

Im a tech illustrator from a long time ago - trained in the UK - .13 rotring inks and that funny smell from the elipse templates, but hope to get back into it with TS in a virtual environment.. struggling a bit and asking some searching questions of TS version 7, but still with a positive outlook !
