:) Hi,

I used my october 2005 image runner up (created with tS 6.6) to test tS 7.1 and the Vray engine (lighting, materials, speed).

Here's the result:

original size 1120x1358; render time 1 hour 30 min. on P4 2.8 1G ram;

preset level low (with a litle adjust), no sss material, the curtain material is a simple dielectric.

What do you think?

:)

Good job done all round.

looks great. The idea with the dielectric for the curtain is good, looks real as well as madmouse said the frosted glass is nice.
With the reflection ground it looks a bit cold, why not a carpet or alike with pattern.

Not essentially but with the bright room the sky would turn to white ;)

Overall it's 'very pretty'. In a hospital or Good Housekeeping kinda way. To myself it's as elegant as it is lifeless.

What were you aiming at with this image??? Was it a simple test of TS7???

Nice and zen-ful, certainly.

My hat's off to you for your results with the way the curtain captures light and how the glass looks incredibly real.

That table on the floor is a lawsuit just waiting to happen, though. ;)

Very well done!

Chrono: 100 posts and not one render from you.
Plenty of question marks, though.
Don't be shy... as we say in #truespace: "Show yer Stuffs!"
Cesare: Nice clean render. I like the frosty glass. Is your housekeeper for hire?

Hi,

thanks to everybody for the comments and the hints.:) :) :)

I inspired to a photography seen on a furnishing magazine.

I worked hard with tS 6.6 to make the right lighting effect for the first image, but now with tS 7.1 and Vray it has been easy and fast.

I can tell you that I am an architect to show you my product or a doctor to show you my surgery, instead I say you that I only wanted to communicate with you.

I liked the photography and I tried to reproduce it, that's all.

Thanks again.

Thank you Cesare, I like both versions for their clean composition and airy space. I must say that VRay lighting is superior though.

:) Thank you Roman, i agree: Vray is a great render engine, even though there are still some problems to fix, above all the bump in the shadowed areas.

;) However Lightwork is not to underestimate and we can get excellent results with the new hdr environment.

I will send a few tests soon.

The frosted glass is a dielectric with a bump.

You can see this immage.
