Have joined the Hardcore Modelling Challenge over on CGTalk forums, this month it is to create an iconic robot. I have decided to go with the first robots you seen in 'Sky Captain and the world of Tomorrow', you can check out my progress upto this image over here (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=208&t=628896)
And here is where I am with it, modeling is done in the Model side of TS7
Im hoping to make a small animation with it in my final year project at university.
Please let me know what you think

What I can see looks stunning, but some more light would not harm. It could be my monitor :D

I think you're definitely off to a nice start. Not much else to say yet. Looking forward to seeing more. :) |

Right now, it looks like it's in the closet. all dark against dark. The "feet" blend into the bottom of the picture. It's very dramatic though. |

Strangely enough, I just watched this movie last weekend. The models look really great and the low camera angle you have used certainly adds to their menace. Would love to see them in a full scene or animation. |

Looking Good!
I'm guessing that no fur or hair will be required on this model. :)
Those robots were pretty agile as I recall, until a rope or something was thrown into the mix. |
