The third version of my screws. This time I got it right I think. I'm quite happy how the carbon fibre ground material turned out. Lightworks HDRI render.

I like this as well, GraySho!
Hope you don't mind, I downloaded the image and am running it through DOF PRO 2. Will email you the results. ;) Couldn't resist on this type of image. |

Not a problem, I might give you the scene to test it (don't know how DOF Pro works). There's a slight blur in it already. |

Cool screws Graysho - a great render!
(Note: "The Wizards Book of Really Useful Rules" has this to say about screws: A screw can be very good for holding other things together but groups of screws will always have either two screws too many or two screws too few for the job at hand). |

I did a simple linear gradient DOF on it, since that doesn't require a Z-buffer map.
I did a few variations of them. If you want, I can just post them here.
EDIT: Pictures uploaded. |

With it already having DOF, the in-focus parts don't appear as sharp due to previously being blurred. Anyhow, your pic was a lot of fun to play with in DOF Pro! |

Then there is the corollary rule that says that anything you buy will either be missing one screw or have an extra.
Great texturing on the render! Heck, great work all the way around!
