Hi, i am a newbie (only for the forums, i use TS since a long time) and this is my first post. Some peoples want to know more about the image SkyTown (April 2008 gallery). I prefer send a picture because i don't speak english very well. I am from France. The model is simple. It is just a lot of maps on the building. All you need to do it, is time and memory.

Hi Marcel, just wanted to say I was totally blown away by your Sky Town image in March's competition. The attention to detail was fantastic and it has certainly inspired me to put more effort into my current project. I'm really looking forward to seeing your future works and many thanks for posting the breakdowns on the Forum. |

Hi Marcel - a big welcome to the forums and thanks for the detailed look at your image. I really enjoyed your picture - it has me inspired to try my own hand at a futuristic city scene, if I can ever find the time!
Welcome again and please show us more.... |

Thanks for sharing Marcel. The modeling was simpler than I anticipated. Your use of texture maps to bring such detail reminds me of Geoff Holman's work. It was a big revelation to me when I saw the relatively simple models behind his almost photo realistic scenes. (If I remember rightly he also contributed to Marlin Studios texture collections). I found the balance between texturing and modeling your SkyTown image draws on (no pun intended!) an inspiring one...

This is very professional work, Marcel! I have to admit I had you confused with the other Marcel (Parva) at first. ;)
Hope you'll post more cool works on the forums, there's a lot many of us can learn from your approach to design and image making. :D |
