Hello everyone! :)

I've been lurking here reading about everyone else's exploits for ages, but as someone relatively inexperienced in 3d, I've kept quiet (ignorance voiced is only confirmed!). By 'inexperienced', I mean in the software side of things. 20 years ago, I trained as a technical illustrator and learned how to do this by hand with a paintbrush! I left art college just before 3d software went mainstream, but its only now all these years later that I've been able to get into it again. Finally, along came a task at work for which TS7 was just right. And I don't know about you, but I find there's nothing like having a project you need to get done for getting the enthusiasm to learn how to use a new tool.

I run a website for schools which is all about helping UK teachers to bring ethical issues in to biology lessons (www.beep.ac.uk), and each section is branded with a very wide but short banner strip. For some topics this branding is easy (say, the earth for environmenatlism etc), but for some it's hard. On this occasion, I had to come up with an image to represent the concept of 'think and act', which would relate to the lives of kids and at the same time incorporate all of the other issues on the site (genetics, environmentalism, health, etc) - all in one simple image. I spent days bashing my head against a wall, before I thought of the idea below. Truespace to the rescue!

This is my first ever posting of 3d work. It was fun!

TS7, Vray & HDRI + Photoshop for the lad at the back.

Nice image,

With Grommit as an avatar and a base in Bristol I fleetingly thought we had hooked Nick Park....but perhaps not!

I'm almost a lurker myself with only a couple of images posted over the last few years. Hopefully, this will change soon...

I like this Grommit, and always nice to see tS used in an educational environment. I really see a future for tS in education and I try to actively promote it to educators and establishments here in the UK.

With an Avatar named Grommit how could we not like you! ! My thoughts exactly!

Welcome to the limelight Grommit. I like your banner - often the concept is the hardest part with this sort of thing. Once you have the concept trueSpace is certainly a brilliant tool for realising it.

Looking forward to more

Stephen
