I was admiring wizard's fine vue and truespace mastery wishing i had vue, then I remembered I had bryce 5.5 from a giveaway a long time ago. So I took my monster I created with truespace creature creator plugin and imported it to bryce and started messing with the bryce tools. Man, these 3d landscape programs are fun! I want to find a way to use this kind of scene from bryce with the animation i am doing with this guy in truespace now. I am having trouble finding a way to use ts animation and bryce together. Maybe I'll have to fake it with clever compositing. I don't know anything about compositing but i have an ol version of ae, so maybe i can figure it out.

Anyway, here's my first test.

LOL! I can't decide whether I should protest my innocence or say "Mwa ha ha! You fell for my evil plan"

You can do a lot with Bryce - I've imported tS models into Bryce but I find the Vue interface to be so much more pleasurable to use.

You are right about the 3d landscape apps being fun - I like that you can plant a whole garden without having to get your hands dirty!;)

I do long for the day when we can export animated meshes from tS into Vue - or Vue scenes into tS (not that that's likely to ever happen.

Failing that I'd love it if tS did instancing (for forests and jungles) and realistic volumetric clouds.

In the meantime though these programs are still usable together, as you'll see in the animation I'm about to post - as soon as I get time to figure out the best compression settings.....

Good luck with your project Mr Frog. I'll be watching with interest....
