This is a new and improved version of my "20th Century Kid" logo. I plan to use this in my "Star Wars Kid" video. |

well... the background, lights and building are much better than the earlier version. Maybe too much "shine" to the building. and I would place a dim infinate lite to briten up the right side. Very good work though!!! |

Thanks for the input, I'll try to "lesson up the shine" as you said, and now that I looked, the right side is a bit too dark.
Here, I've attached the example I'm going off of: |

OK, the shine is going to have to stay for now, but I fixed the lighting. |

Still a bit dark on the right side - perhaps increase the Dif and do a paint face? |

How's this? (keep in mind that I can't make it too bright, or else it won't match the backround.) |

MUCH better! You can now tell it's the same color as the rest of the building. |

Thanks! I'm going into the animation process now, so is there anything else I might want to do? |

Fantastic, I did my own version a year or so ago 20th Century Zombie for my Zombie Mockumentary for Media Studies, it was nowhere near as good as this, although I had very little time and made it in 30 mins heh.
Some tips, the attatched image shows a comparison between ur version and the original focusing on one of the spotlights, perhaps u ought to make it the same colour? not sure how much alike u want them to look, also try using the bevel tool on the front faces of the letters as shown in the second attatchment
cant wait to see your animation |

Alright, here's an update: I created a new backround image and played around with the spotlight "tint." I also tried beveling the letters, but the results were'nt good. |

yeh the bevel tool can mess up sometimes, well this looks great now and anyway, you wouldnt want an exact replication heh, it has to be your own and I this this is fantastic

I love what you've done here - good work.
Having said that I am a little reluctant to point out that the 20th century is...well, so last century!! |

Thanks W!ZARD, I enjoy compliments.
The reason I chose 20th was because I wanted to make a really good spoof of the original. My plan was to create a logo that is identical in everything but the text at the bottom.
I think I've almost reached that goal, in fact, all that's really left to do is animate the camera.
Here's a new update:

I finished animating the camera! All that's left to do is add a backdrop of hollywood.
Here's a sort of "previz" style render of what I've done so far:

Thanks, it's good to here the feedback.:jumpy:
It seemed to dawn on me just now that, although this thread started off as a display of my "finished artwork," it kind of shifted into a WIP. My current intention is to wrap this up as fast as possible, then hear feedback on the final animation.
I also plan to submit this for the upcoming gallery. Any last words?;) |

Alrighty!
I have completely finished the animation, encoded it, and uploaded it to the gallery. I have a link shown below, and I know that it's fine now, but depending on whether or not my entry gets shown in the gallery, it may stop working.

Looks good!
Now you need a featured full motion picture to add to it! :D |

Ha! You know, I was actually considering that, or something similar.
Just wondering, on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the best), where does this animation stand?
This is just so I can tell if I should work harder to improve my skills. |

As far as animation is concerned I would give it a 8.5.
For content I would give it a 5.5.
For 3D effect I would give it 7.5.
You can do the averaging. :D |

the building still looks more like plastic than stone, but it's a very good animation. I give it a 7. |

Thanks for that. I'm just trying to see my animations from other points of view.
My perspective of this is that my animation may receive an honorable mention, but certainly no prize.:( :D
I've decided that I will, instead of showing what I have now, present a walkthrough of the creation process, then the final cut.
This may make it easier to see what I went through to come up with this.:D
I better hurry up though, seeing as I only have two more days.
Let's get crackin!!! |
