Um.... just to set the record straight.... I'm female, not male and I'm in California, not Germany. :)

Ah good. I was worried that I had been mistaken for a really long time. XD

Sorry 'bout that!

Sorry to see you go Prodigy. I hope you come back soon!

Also, in keeping with what this thread's s'posed to be about (:D), since there are no lights, how did you get that "under the spotlight" look? Is the ground plane textured to look that way?

Glad to hear that you're not a guy Heidi ;)

Besides, I'd be a bit worried about a guy that puts feminine touches like pink floral wallpaper into a soft lit scene of highheels and flowers.... :p

Hope to see more work from you and I hope Prodigy will stay too.

Seriously Prodigy, don't let it get to you. I think most of us here consider you a great asset to the TS community.

-Jack.

Frank its a Beta Tester or it was... Dont know.. and he lost his Beta Test Label..and ask to him if i dont ask about why he lost his label...Thanks god Frank understand my questions..

Beta testers are supposed to have the ability to change that label under our names, some choose to have it, others do not. It is completely up to each user what they do. Don't spend too much brain power worrying about it :D Life is far too short

BTW I took your comments as just part of your questioning personality. You ask questions, you give lots of help and answers...

No-one is going to get banned here, there is no worry about that! I would however like people to use a more pleasant tone with those who are carrying out official business - any moderation here will most likely be the removal of these posts (mine included naturally) and some request (if appropriate, this is up to the forum mods) about conduct, but certainly no "or you will be banned!" type approaches.

So this will just be (at worst) requests for being civil and having a pleasant tone, nothing to do with banning or restricting.

OK, thanks for clearing that up Tom!:D I was just a bit worried because, as said earlier, I've seen it happen (and for much less of a reason than was shown here!).

While on this subject matter though, I have been wanting to ask, is "bumping" allowed on this forum? ("Bumping" is where a user will make a post just for the sole purpose of moving a thread to the top of the list. Usually contains nothing except the word "bump" and maybe a few smilies.:D)

So long as the thread was a valid one to "keep alive" I don't see why bumping would be an issue, eg some question not answered yet etc. That would be valid and I don't see a problem. So long as it is done with consideration I think there is no harm in it - would be nice to have a more constructive reason given for the bump though :) eg "Just bumping this as there was never an answer found for the problem" or "This is great artwork, from 2 years ago, though I would bump it for those who hadn't seen it before"

That makes things a little more constructive and useful all round :)

Very interesting conversation::|I was curious, though...how again does one get to be a beta tester??? Sounds like fun:D

EDIT: BTW, Heidi, really cool pearl texture...very creative way of achieving it; I love it!

Becoming a beta tester can happen in two ways usually - you can write to us and ask, and we will review the application and let you know. The other way is that we get in touch with you and ask based on you having come to our attention in some way or another.

It usually depends on the point in the cycle of testing too, such as at the moment at the end of a cycle we are not looking so much to take on beta testers.

Being in pT also gets you a beta version once the cycle is far enough along (ie once the program is useful - pT getting beta is more about giving pT members something extra, rather than for using them as guinea pigs to test on!).

Anyone can write in and ask about being on the beta program, so long as they are prepared to be either accepted or turned down and not be upset if they get turned down (which is not necessarily any judgement on the person so much as it is a judgement on the current needs of the beta team).

... or you buy more than 50 TS licenses to come into the betatester circle ;)

just kidding.

Thomas ! looks like we need the acrobat professional (7 or 8) to bring text and a scene in one file.

Aha, that's how you combine the 3D acrobat and "regular" acrobat! I hadnt unearthed that piece of info yet, thanks for looking!

I did see that .cob is on their acrobat 3D toolkit list, and that OBJ is there for both the toolkit and acrobat 3D, so looks like there ought to be pretty good routes to get stuff out of tS and into acrobat 3D.

It also does IGES and other CAD formats of course, since that seems to be its main aim, toward that market. So those of us with the Conversion Pack might have other routes to get their models into acrobat 3D.

Thanks for sharing your demo with me on that one, it was interesting to test, and we are continuing to have a look at this area :)

Oh and lol on the 50 licenses too - actually I think that way is not guaranteed that you get to be a beta tester, takes 100 licenses to get to 100% surefire "you're in!" heh ;)

Thanks!

Tom

Haha yes 100 licenses ... :)

Today i have read that it is possible to bring both together in the acrobat 3d .. and i see it as my persional challange to make a example with text and scene in one file.

I won´t to abandon this challange! ;)

and excuse my poor english.

Sounds pretty sweet! Hmmmm...maybe I'll try the 100 TS licenses. It'd probably help out if I knew 100 people first:|

Yes and if a betatester does not have this ability, it would be my "bad" and they could contact me to fix it up for them :o :)
