Some of you may have seen the WIP version of this in another part of the forum. Now it's complete so here it is.

http://www.anvil.teknegolieth.com/media/pumpexpl15.jpg

Modelled entirely in trueSpace 7.5, rendered in Carrara 5.1 pro using HDRI from Evermotion (haven't got to grips with Vray yet). No post processing.

Very nice work! Just out of curiosity, what does Carrera offer in rendering vs. Lightworks with HDRI? I don't have Carrera so I'm curious. :)

no, you can't see the wire of it all, as it was modelled using separate items in trueSpace and assembled in Carrara for the render. I attach a screen shot of the view in Carrara prior to render. If you insist on seeing the wireframes, I will have to upload pics of all of the separate items.

Hi b_scotty,

I can't answer this as I am very new to ts, whereas I know Carrara fairly well. It took me probably 5 minutes to create this scene in Carrara using the shaders, lighting scene, hdri, lighting inside the assembly, etc.
Render time was <2 minutes.
Sorry, but I had to produce something for my customer quickly, so you have to go with what ya know.

Ahm, I see...

OK, the reason I wanted to see it wired is because I am very curious about the detail I've attached. Just wanted to see it wired, because the reflection is good, and I was thinking how detailed should it be to look that way.

Anyway, great job. Congrats :)

Hi nick,

FYI here are the wire frames. Note that the support is more detailed in the Carrara view, as after applying smoothing to it in ts, the result was awful, so I smoothed it in Carrara to get the result I required. Also, exporting the ts file as dxf to get it into Carrara produced lots of triangles however, for this job I was not concerned about no of faces - it was always just going to end up a pictorial representation
