Hey cool idea Bob. There's already some good cartoony pics around the forum but they are scattered about - it makes sense to have a central location for them.

Thanks Frootee. I always wanted to turn that joke around. I'm really pleased on how this one turned out.

I had asked for everyone's feelings about the lighting and based on feedback (around 50-50) I tried to improve the lighting to fix the problem areas. I wanted to keep that "Bar" type lighting. In the shadows lurk the creature....can I buy you a drink?

The frogs are different colors because there are different kinds of frogs.

Mr. Steinie...

Excellent, I absolutely love the joke, and the frogs are great. You managed to model great personality into each of them...

I can't wait for your next project.

Frog: "Waiter, I'll have the soup of the day, please"

Waiter: "Yes sir. Would you like flys with that?"

Great pic Steinie - why is it that frogs are just so funny?

The one of the fly up close isn't bad; the wings just need a little work in texturing...

Fly's wings are clearer than that, maybe a little rainbow, but not that much...

Looks good though!

"Fly Away" response:
Hey I liked all your jokes for my serious piece of work!
(The Black Velvet background was backordered maybe that brought the quality down?...):D
"Farewell My Love" response:
The closeup of the fly was a whim. What I liked about that one is the small hairs using TS 7.51 hair tools. I could have easily spent a lot more time on the fly, but the joke was more important then the modeling. Your right about Irradesencent wings would have looked cooler!

Future Plans: (Joke withheld to maintain slight interest in viewer)
I have two ideas for my next piece and it has to do with one part of the Circus...One idea is a high wire act and the other is a Human Cannon Ball Act.
I also have future plans to do a Parrot at some point. He missed the boat in "Fishing For Gold" Stay Tuned and Have Fun!

Sorry I know I'm just critiquing everything.... I'll try to stop doing that...

That's cool that you used the hair tool for the fly's wings, I probably wouldn't have thought of that...

I just watched "Flushed Away" by Aardman Studios and DreamWorks. My wife looks over at me during the movie and says "Slugs and Frogs too"? (Toads really)

I had thought the movie was about mice and rats but do remember a screaming slug in the commercial a while back. Well any way my latest works had come from my own ideas...REALLY...and not based on this movie. It felt like I had seen this movie in another life, weird.

The movie is excellent by the way.

The way they animated the Toad speaking with his very wide open mouth snapping closed between words was perfect. There is a very cool seen where he captures a fly right in front of the camera. "I wish I had done that":)

I'll second all of Steinie's comments. I watched it yesterday (coincidence only, we didn't watch it together!) and it is an excellent film. The humour is probably slightly more English than American but don't let that put you non-Brits off!

Can't believe it took me so long to get round to seeing it. If you haven't, watch it soon, you won't regret it.

"Waiter what's this fly doing in my soup?"

"It appears to be the breaststroke sir"

"Do you serve crocodile?"

"Yes"

"Ok I'll have a crocodile sandwich and make it snappy"

Welcome to the club Kena! The only suggestion I'd like to make is have the tail be more prominent. I had to look twice to see it.

Nice going on creating a creepy dungeon. It was also nice to see all the help you received.

Yes, I may have to re-do my Hallway. It's very narrow for the camera and the cart. I'm thinking of a parallel hall so you can see it side-on.

If so, I will just replace that one pic to save the 56 kb on the forum :D

My own challenge to learn Animation in trueSpace...Step One:
"Old Man no Wii (Wii)" was my first attempt with bones in trueSpace. I used the MakeHuman Application (which is FREE!) (link is in my Signature). I wanted an Old Man character and it delivered.... just not anatomically correct...

After reading most of the trueSpace Bones tutorial and watching the video I then attended the Animation Meeting Saturday. The new Bone System is not supported there yet so all explanations were in text or verbal form. 3DFrog, Dragneye and many others were a big help in getting me started. I captured their answers and applied them that night. I'm still in the learning phase with bones but the results I achieved in a short time are amazing.
Not your average pose but for a cartoonist I found it "Perfect":D

It was also suggested yesterday that Bob study "Bob", that is my next plan.

I'm glad we can all help each other Steinie. Your 'old man' though structuraly deformed (happens a lot with bones and hinges and such; part of the weeding out process), I have to say... from a funny viewpoint, is almost perfect :D

Kena... I still haven't figured out abt the cart and tail. Did I miss anything yet?
