I realise the 'Smash' comments have zoomed over some peoples heads. Obviously didn't notice that it was actually a link. So, in an attempt at being a little less subtle, click this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0YF_oNyQXE

"zoomed over some peoples heads" ? Hardly-more like they landed in a corner with a thud of indifference. Some ??? was all that the link was worth.

Yes, I did see the link. No, I can't be arsed to spend 1/2 the day on You Tube contemplating their trend of the week everytime someone posts YAYL (yet another youtube link) !

What are you talking about? Half a day on YouTube - huh? It's a direct link to a commercial from the 70's that lasts for 30 seconds so you only need to spend, ooh, about 30 seconds there.

Hey WWW. That's pretty cool! They do look a lot like Frog's RoboFrog.

Thanks for sharing the link!

Now we know where Frog gets his inspiration... hehe. :p

Woah! Who got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning then? You may want to think about putting some extra sweetener in your coffee - your comments are a bit over the top improv - Kate was just sharing some humour and doesn't deserve to be dissed like this.

Likewise for you Improv.
You don't like it don't watch it.

The witch, the wizard and the fruit are allowed an opinion, but I'm not part of your online clique so I don't get to respond to her snide 'over their head' remark as I see fit.

Last time I looked, fruitcake, you weren't a moderator, so myob.

I see how it works! In with the 'in' crowd, or shut the hell up!

Whoa there, you seem to have gotten the wrong end of the stick entirely. The "over the head" comment was not aimed at you and certainly wasn't in any way snide, it was because several people hadn't realised it was a clickable link, therefore the clickability had bypassed them, therefore 'going over their heads'.

And I'm sure not in any clique.

Hope it all now makes sense. Sheesh!

Hey man. I think Frog mentioned he would be able to spend some time on something like this after 7.6 is released.

I know, but patience is a virtue not on loan to me currently. :D

I could not resist saying this as I try to stay out of this lame attacks.
Most importantly these comments, opinions and now name calling is really disrespectful to the person who created this thread. In my opinion you (Improv and Wizard) have hijacked this thread. Very sad that this negative energy could not be transformed into something more positive and helpful.
You need not reply to my opinion as that would further show continued disrespect. But if it is important to you please just send me a private message.

Going to call folks to order here. There was some simple sharing of a link - which happens to be relevant as the new char does look like those, and which happens to be fun for those of us from the UK who remember these ads. So no-one need criticize anyone for posting that link as nothing was out of order there.

It might be good form for people to delete posts that have got into name calling, returning this thread to its proper status, and then for everyone to move forward and forget about this.

The bus is moving forward, all passengers please return to their seats and be nice to each other, and let's not make the next stop on the journey the one called Moderation :)

HTH!

I agree it is a shame to hijack a thread. It is also hard to deal with folks who are only partially willing to take humor as it is intended. We all trip over our ego from time to time. When it does happen, is better to have folks who are willing to douse the flames than to have folks who add fuel to the fire.
As a community, it looks way better to show understanding and a willingness to be at peace with each other than to post comments to the contrary. I am not laying or casting blame here. The community as a whole just looks bad when these situations arise and get out of hand.

When my mum unfortunately "discovered" (read succumbed to mind numbing quantities of adverts and that damn jingle tune) Smash.

As kids we were almost force-fed the stuff. No wonder that guy turned into a non human!

We could have it with beans, with sausages, with mince, etc etc but for sure we WERE having it. (AGAIN) ( and again)

Recently on TV there was a programme that included the fact that Smash was one of the earliest massively successful TV adverts of the era. (unfortunately for me as a kid). I can still remember the jingle all these years later.... scary the power of advertising.

Even now my stomach still does somersaults at even the thought of that ghastly stuff!
