Okay, I've made my first ocean scene, although the water looks real, the sky I made didn't come out too good.

Please tell me what you think.

Thanks

The ocean looks ok.

Try to add some small islands at the horizon, and use a jpeg with less white clouds. Typically avoid to have white clouds near the water.

Just some experience to share with you.

Looks like you used the cloud generator to get your background. You may want to use an HDRI image (or a fake one ;) )
Or a sky box or a sky dome.
A quick search of the forums gave me these...

From what I've read a sense of depth is needed for a good ocean. Things that help are:

- Blur the horizon.

I've used light gray ground fog in the example picture. It is a difficult balancing act to get the fog right. Make the dome/ocean objects large and it is easier.

- Use a flattend sky dome to exagerate perspective on the clouds.

This dome has a hemispherical sky panorama texture.

- Objects, islands, boats, show depth with their size. Use enough detail in the wave texture so distant waves are much smaller than close ones.

- Distant objects are less clear and less coloful that near ones.

The fog does this. Depth Que would too.

Depth of Field or volumetrics might be useful. I haven't experimented with them for oceans.

3DPDK's advice would be valuable.
