I missed the deadline, but damn if I'm gonna get this pic out.
Here it is, I'll admit I relied on paintshop pro a bit, but then i relied on truespace a lot more

Edit:
Made in Truespace 6.6 and rendered with it's software renderer, I'm skint, so no V-ray or anything like that :(
Enjoy |

Hey Weevil, awesome job. It came together great. You certainly have a knack for putting elements of a scene out there for us to comment on without revealing the end result. I had no idea it was going to be something like this. Simply top notch. |

Yours is really quite something Weevil. The teddy bear indicative of a hurried struggle to leave, a child sad somewhere. The intentions of the giant robot unclear yet somehow seemingly affected by the little toy in the street.
All in all pretty sweet!:D |

Awesome final job - you're getting a bit into these wonky camera angles, hey?;) Some great detail and nice composition - shame it wasn't done for the challenge, but at least you can enter it for the Caligallery... |

Wow! Stunning work Weevil, simply awesome. I just love the composition, camera angle and reduced palette. Great effort. |

Very nice work indeed! A different kind of style, also, from what we usually see in 3D rendering, neither quite aiming to be photoreal nor cartoon. Very compelling subject too, the sort of thing that makes me want to see more scenes from this invasion so I can know more of the story. Is this just one invader? Are there many? (I know I imagine it as War of the Worlds of course due to the tripod design, but doesn't have to be). What other tales are there to tell from this episode in human history?
Thanks for sharing the progress on the work, and the final result!

Wow. I wasn't actually expecting such great feedback from it.
Thanks! |
