As we all seem to be waiting for something to happen regarding truespace so I thought a waiting room would be handy..:D

Another good one Manxie. Was this a VRay render and what settings did you use for the DOF?

It's simply extraordinary...

How did you create the palm foliage ? leaf by leaf as objects or with bitmaps and transparency ?

Hi Jalm,

Glad you like the render, although as I do architectural renders for a living I have to focus mainly on the building geometry and rarely get any time to model the plants or trees, I usually use full poly models for the internal renders as they are usually close to the camera and I use either alpha maps for the external renders or add trees or people to the scene in photoshop as per this building scene which was used for a planning application and alpha textures as were used for the shadows in the barn scene.:D

These are the kinds of scenes that I love to see. The detail is extraordinary. Maybe some day you could do a brief tutorial on "how to do an architectural scene" for us non-professionals AKA part-time hobbyists :jumpy:

Hi Tahnoak,

Here is an old scene of a kitchen area I did yonks ago, I am hoping to use it as a test scene for yafray when it comes out shortly, and I might use the model and scene as a tutorial depending on how I get on with yafray??

As For a vray interior tutorial you cant go wrong with Prodigy's lighting scene that he produced, it's the one I used !!:D

Thanks for the comments guys, as for the render times, as this was only an 800 x 600 resolution render and also as I used D.O.F. I was able to reduce the anti alias settings which helped to speed up the render times which was about 35 mins using TS vray..:D
