It's been well over a year ago when I posted this model as "In Progress".

This thing has taken on a life of its own so I'm calling it finished. HOWEVER, I'm sure I'll be tweaking things in the future so C&Cs are welcome.

It's done in TS, CK Game Factory, a touch of Silo for some creases, and V-Ray.

Been gone from the forums for quite a while. Good to see the forums so lively.

Looks nice indeed. Maybe more opening between the door and body would make it better ? :D

Ah!

The blue color is dead on and the modeling/texturing in general is superb!

I had a 1950 Chevy and a 1959 Chevy, but nothing in between. Always wanted a 55-57 Chevy. :(

Awesome work, thanks for sharing! Any plans for the model now it is done - a scene to put it in, or put it up for sale?

Thanks!

Tom

You know he actually gave away the model for free in it's early development.

You know my mom traded in her '55 (exact same turquoise & white) for a black and white '57.
Which she later gave away to a nephew for free (sob, wail, gnash teeth).
He drove it a couple years and sold it.

Now I see where they ended up...on the internet.
P.S. we'd like them back please.

I'm a little stumped, is your model a '55 or a '56?
Nice job so far, if it's a '55 are you going to finish the gas filler door and trim piece?
And to really nitpick, the front roof pillar seems a little too straight, not swoopy enough.
Could just be the viewing angle however, so take that with a grain of salt.

Thanks for all your support and suggestions! It looks like I picked a good subject. I have no plans for the model just yet. Think I'll put it away for a while and come back to it with fresh ideas. BTW it is a '55 model and the gas filler....isn't there. It is on the overlooked sticky note along with the sun visors, dome light, & door locks. :o What may be throwing you off is that the model has aftermarket "Blue Dot" tail lights. They resemble the '56 lights.

For those interested in a wire, here are a couple of shots. As you can see, I solve problems by throwing polys at them. I'll never be a game developer. :)
